Dancing with the Stars Season 34 continues to entertain viewers with a series of creative themed nights, featuring well-known songs and impressive dance performances by celebrities and their professional partners. The new season has introduced special evenings such as One Hit Wonders Night and Wicked Night, adding excitement and anticipation for both fans and participants.
During Wicked Night, the ballroom was filled with energy as couples performed routines inspired by the famous musical Wicked. Director Jon M. Chu, known for his work on the Wicked films, joined the judges’ panel as a special guest. Highlights included Olympian Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa dancing the rumba to “For Good” by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, while conservationist Robert Irwin and Witney Carson delivered a jazz routine to “Dancing Through Life.” Other memorable dances included a quickstep to “Popular” by Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas, a foxtrot to “As Long as You’re Mine” by Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik, and a contemporary performance by Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten to “Defying Gravity.”
The competition also featured a One Hit Wonders Night, where contestants danced to famous songs by artists known for their singular, unforgettable hits. The opening number, choreographed by Emma Slater, was set to “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).” Other performances included “Take On Me” for a quickstep, “Maniac” for a jive, “Mambo No. 5” for another lively jive, and “Baby Got Back” for a cha cha. Celebrity pairs brought fresh interpretations to these songs, as they aimed to impress judges and advance in the contest.
Longtime judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough returned to offer their critiques, with Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough cohosting the episodes. The show’s structure keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, with double eliminations and no contestants sent home during some episodes, intensifying the competitive atmosphere.
Dancing with the Stars Season 34 airs each week on ABC and is available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu after the broadcast. The themed nights continue to celebrate well-loved dance songs and bring new surprises, allowing both celebrities and their professional dance partners to shine on stage.
