The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square held their final “Songs of Hope” concert in São Paulo, Brazil, marking the end of their tour with a moving performance that celebrated faith, families, and unity. The event took place at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera arena, drawing a full crowd eager to experience devotional music and inspirational messages.
Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles warmly welcomed everyone, emphasizing the importance of Jesus Christ as a source of hope and inspiration. He recognized the diversity among attendees, including different backgrounds and beliefs, and shared his desire for the concert to bring feelings of joy, unity, and spiritual upliftment to all present.
The Sunday devotional featured well-known singer Nathan Pacheco, along with a vocal quartet made up of Beatriz Marmelo, Gabrielly Lourenço, João Daniel, and Nicole Luz. All quartet members belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their musical selections, including “I Am a Child of God,” highlighted messages of faith and love. Children at the event narrated a story from the Book of Mormon about Jesus Christ visiting the Americas. About 200 children joined in a chorus, strengthening the atmosphere of hope and togetherness.
Guest harpist Lethicia Caravello, who is Brazilian, performed with the orchestra in a medley of Primary songs. She surprised her parents, Elder and Sister Soares, with a heartfelt hug on stage, adding emotion to the evening. Earlier concerts during the tour included performances by Brazilian singer Ivete Sangalo, which were held at the same arena and also attracted large audiences.
The Saturday show was streamed live, allowing viewers from around the world to experience the choir’s uplifting music. The “Songs of Hope” concerts in Brazil showcased how devotional music brings people together, celebrates faith, and offers encouragement for families and communities.
