The Outlaw Country Cruise marked its 10th anniversary in 2026 with an energetic five-day music festival aboard the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pearl. Sailing from Miami between March 20 and 25, the ship journeyed to Harvest Caye in Belize and Roatan in Honduras, offering fans a chance to enjoy performances by some of country and roots music’s most respected artists. Sixthman organized the event, assembling a diverse lineup that featured Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Jim Lauderdale, and Asleep at the Wheel among others.
The festivities kicked off with Texas honky-tonk singer Summer Dean opening on the Pearl’s Atrium stage. Dean captivated the audience with her lively presence and songs like “Somebody’s Knockin'” and “Yes Ma’am, He Found Me in a Honky Tonk.” She also performed “She Ain’t Me,” dedicating it to her future mother-in-law, a track originally released by Leona Williams. Dean’s own heartfelt song, “She’s in His Arms But I’m in the Palm of His Hand,” stood out as a memorable moment during her set.
After Dean’s performance, the cruise officially began with a group photo on the pool deck followed by a toast featuring complimentary whiskey sours. Jesse Dayton energized the crowd with his sail-away set, delivering Waylon Jennings classics such as “Don’t You Think This Outlaw Bit’s Done Got Out of Hand” alongside his original tunes like “Daddy Was a Badass.” Dayton also shared entertaining anecdotes from his time touring with Jennings, adding a personal touch to his performance.
Other notable acts on the opening day included Southern Culture on the Skids, who brought their signature sound to the Atrium with songs like “Nitty Gritty” and “Liquored Up and Lacquered Down.” Andrew Leahey offered an intimate acoustic solo set at Magnums, responding warmly to audience requests including “Guilty Man.” The evening closed with an inspiring performance by Swamp Dogg in the Stardust Theater. At nearly 84 years old, he impressed fans with powerful vocals and humor while performing songs like “If I Die Tomorrow (I’ve Lived Tonight)” and “(Don’t Take Her) She’s All I Got,” a classic he co-wrote.
The Outlaw Country Cruise continues to be a distinctive fusion of music and travel that delivers an unforgettable experience for fans of roots and country music. Organizers are expected to announce details for the 2027 cruise soon, promising another exciting chapter in this unique floating festival’s history.
