Bruno Mars made a grand return to touring with the launch of The Romantic Tour, kicking off on April 10 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This marked his first stadium tour after nearly a decade away from large-scale live performances, as he had spent much of the past years performing in his Las Vegas residency at Park MGM and on select international dates. The two-hour concert celebrated his new album, “The Romantic,” while also showcasing hits from his extensive 15-year career.
The setlist combined fan favorites from his early days such as “Just the Way You Are” and “Marry You” with newer tracks like “I Just Might” and the tour opener “Risk It All.” Mars’s performance was energetic and captivating, supported by his band, the Hooligans, as he danced and sang through a diverse range of songs. His friend and collaborator Anderson .Paak, performing as DJ Pee .Wee, joined him on stage for a special segment featuring Silk Sonic songs.
The strong demand for Mars’s return to touring led to an extension of his originally scheduled 39-date stadium run by an additional 32 shows. Ticket sales for the tour were record-breaking, with Mars setting new marks for the largest single-day ticket sales in Live Nation history across North America, Europe, and the UK. He also achieved a Ticketmaster record by selling 2.1 million tickets in a single day.
Supporting acts varied throughout the tour, including Leon Thomas through May 30, Victoria Monét during the European and UK legs in summer, and RAYE returning for North American dates from August through October. This mix of opening performers added to the overall dynamic experience of the tour.
The full setlist from opening night included a rich blend of songs: “Risk It All,” “Cha Cha Cha,” “Treasure,” “God Was Showing Off,” “I Just Might,” “Why You Wanna Fight,” and a medley titled “Low Rider” featuring several classics. Other highlights were “Smoking Out the Window,” “Die With a Smile,” “It Will Rain,” “Talking to the Moon,” “When I Was Your Man,” and of course, crowd-pleasers like “24K Magic,” “That’s What I Like,” “Leave the Door Open,” and “Uptown Funk.”
Bruno Mars’s Romantic Tour is not only a celebration of his musical journey but also a testament to his enduring popularity and ability to connect with audiences worldwide. The tour continues to attract sold-out crowds as it progresses across multiple continents.
