1. The story before the journey to the west
There are three evil ghosts in the Western Pure Land: Rakshasa, Yaksha, and Asura. Among them, Rakshasa and Yaksha were both born from the feet of the ancient god Brahma. Although they have the same origin, they are often hostile. Because they often kill and eat people, they were later conquered by Buddhism and became the guardians of Buddhism.
Rakshasa King’s daughter, Rakshasa Girl, practiced Buddhism since childhood, and later worshipped under the Taishang Laojun, practicing both Buddhism and Taoism. Because Laojun gave her a banana magic weapon, this girl was called Princess Iron Fan.
Sun Wukong returned from Bodhi Patriarch and saw that the Water Curtain Cave was occupied by the Devil King of Mixed Worlds, so he drove him away. The Devil King of Mixed Worlds found Niu Mowang and others to go to the Water Curtain Cave to find Sun Wukong. Seeing that Niu Mowang apologized on behalf of the Devil King of Mixed Worlds, Sun Wukong led everyone back to the cave to talk, drank and talked happily, and felt that they were confidants, so they became sworn brothers. Sun Wukong was nicknamed the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, while Niu Mowang was called the Great Sage Leveling Heaven.
Sun Wukong was later recruited to heaven. Because he stole peaches from heaven, he was put into the Eight Trigrams Furnace by Taishang Laojun for refining. As a result, not only was he fine, but he also kicked the Eight Trigrams Furnace over, indirectly forming the Flame Mountain. The little Taoist boy who was in charge of the furnace was also demoted to the mortal world and became the land of the Flame Mountain because of his poor performance.
Princess Iron Fan asked to come down to the mortal world and helped the land of the Flame Mountain a lot. After some time, Taishang Laojun promised Princess Iron Fan to the Bull Demon King. Although the land of the Flame Mountain was in love with Princess Iron Fan, he could do nothing about it.
2. The Bull Demon King and his family
For unknown reasons, the Yaksha and Rakshasa tribes were slaughtered overnight by Lingshan. In order to revive his son, the Yaksha King agreed to the request of Taishang Laojun and sacrificed himself. Finally, with the help of the land of Huoyan Mountain, the spirit of the Yaksha King’s son turned into a red lotus. In order to keep the evidence of Lingshan’s evil deeds, Taishang Laojun asked Princess Iron Fan to drink the red lotus and the water of the Zimu River, and gave birth to Red Boy, the last bloodline of the Yaksha tribe.
Both the Bull Demon King and Princess Iron Fan were unable to resist the arrangement of the Heavenly Court, and gradually developed a rift. Later, they simply married into the Jade Face Princess and had a daughter named Pingping.
Red Boy’s ability became stronger and stronger under the cultivation of the land of Huoyan Mountain. Not only did he learn the Samadhi True Fire, he also occupied the mountain as the king and was called the Holy Infant King.
When Sun Wukong and his disciples passed by to seek scriptures, Red Boy pretended to be a kidnapped child and lured Tang Monk to be deceived and caught. His Samadhi True Fire was very powerful, and Sun Wukong was helpless. In the end, he asked Guanyin Bodhisattva to come out of the mountain and subdue him, and he became Shancai Boy.
The few people continued on their way. When they passed the Flaming Mountain, they could not move forward due to the fire, so they had to ask for help from Princess Iron Fan’s banana fan. Princess Iron Fan saw that the visitor was Sun Wukong, and she was unwilling to lend him the banana fan because of new and old grudges. Sun Wukong had to find the Bull Demon King. The Bull Demon King ignored him at first, but because Sun Wukong changed into his appearance and stole the banana fan, he fought with Sun Wukong. In the melee between the two sides, Zhu Bajie killed the Jade-faced Princess, causing the Bull Demon King and Sun Wukong to completely turn against each other.
The two fought until the sky was dark and dark, and they were evenly matched. Later, with the help of Li Jing and Nezha, the Bull Demon King was completely subdued, taken back to Lingshan, handed over to the Buddha, and converted to Buddhism.
3. Son of Yaksha
Many years later, Bull Demon King also participated in the operation to encircle and suppress Sun Wukong, and obtained “Body Worry”, one of the six roots. Before his death, Sun Wukong warned him of the disadvantages of the root, and Bull Demon King swallowed the root into his stomach to prevent it from being taken away. As a result, he gradually became haggard, sick and weak. Red Boy was also released back to Huoyan Mountain by Guanyin Bodhisattva. He was reunited with his family and had no worries. But who knew that Taishang Laojun’s plan was activated. He asked the land of Huoyan Mountain to tell Red Boy about his life experience, which stimulated his desire for revenge. In addition, the land of Huoyan Mountain had already prepared a group of stone spirits headed by Sui, a strange monkey infected by the Yin-Yang fish that spread the plague, and a group of hell ghost soldiers for Red Boy.
Of course, Red Boy himself also had other helpers. On the occasion of Red Boy’s 100th birthday, Bull Demon King ordered people to build a five-element chariot to accompany him in his practice. Over time, the five-element chariot also became spiritual because of the Samadhi True Fire and became a very powerful monster in the mountains.
In addition, Red Boy has six strong men under his command. 4. Ma Tianba
Ma Tianba’s original name was Ma Er. He was originally a horse raised by a caravan. Later, the caravan was attacked in the mountains and he escaped alone. An old man named Xu who lived alone in the manor kindly took him in and named him Ma Er.
The old man was very kind to Ma Er, but because of his old age, he fell down beside the stable one day. Ma Er carried the old man and went straight to the Banana Cave in Cuiyun Mountain for help. Unfortunately, when he arrived at Cuiyun Mountain, the old man was unable to save the sky. Ma Er was heartbroken and wandered in the mountains since then.
One day, Ma Er saw an old cow sleeping soundly on the side of the road, and the fire in the mountains was about to burn his eyebrows. Because he couldn’t wake up the old cow, he carried him on his back and rushed to the Banana Cave. When he arrived in the cave, he found that the cow was the Bull Demon King. After the Bull Demon King sobered up, he saw that he was domineering and courageous, and that he had been wounded to save himself, so he gave him the name Ma Tianba, allowed him to follow him to practice, and appointed him as his general. After Red Boy besieged the Flame Mountain, the Bull Demon King was dying and dismissed his men. In order to save the Bull Demon King, Ma Tianba rushed thousands of miles again. He first went to the Black Wind Mountain, and found that the Black Bear Spirit was strong on the outside but weak on the inside, and could not help him. He came to the Yellow Wind Ridge again, and wanted to ask the Yellow Wind King for help, but he was tied up by a group of rat spirits as soon as he entered the door, and there was no hope of asking for help. After a lot of twists and turns, he came to Xiaoxitian, and almost stayed to pursue the hypocritical road because of the brainwashing instigation of the Yellow Eyebrow King. In the end, Ma Tianba came to the Pansi Cave and wanted to ask for help from the Hundred Eyes Immortal, but was caught in the cave and trapped in the eggs. After this, Ma Tianba completely woke up and realized that it was better to ask for help from himself than from others, so he decided to return to the Flame Mountain and do whatever he could. After returning to Huoyan Mountain, it was already a mess. Ma Tianba and one of the five-element chariots died together, and his soul was taken away by the land of Huoyan Mountain. Only his whip was left to wait for the arrival of the man of destiny.
