This is where the element of resource management in combat comes into play: I have to think carefully about which spells are worth my mana, whether I should save them for the more difficult Boss II phase, and if I use a spell, whether I can take advantage of the opportunities it creates.
For example, although the External Body spell is my most powerful spell, because of its high mana consumption, I often need to use it at the right time to avoid being cleared by AOE before it works.Sometimes, when I’m stuck with a Boss, all I need to do is change the way I use skills, and it’s very satisfying to find a new strategy that works.
Although the Boss battle is the highlight of Black Myth: Goku, the variety of enemies in normal battles is also quite rich.
The level structure is “wide linear,” with a clear main path usually leading the player to each archive point, but there are also many paths where good things are hidden.
The rewards of exploration are quite generous. I have found rare materials that can be used to make new weapons or armor; elite monsters that can provide new “incarnation skills”; “curios” equipment that can be further strengthened; treasure chests that may permanently increase health, mana or energy, which makes me feel worthwhile after each exploration.
In addition, there are some hidden bosses, some important props I haven’t figured out yet, and a lot of other interesting things for players to discover, so it’s definitely worth exploring the path and paying close attention to the environment.One of the most important reasons is that Black Myth: Goku is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played. Every scene is full of details, from the bark cracking on the trees in the woods to the snow changing in real time as the Destiny Man runs with a stick.
Not only that, but the body animation is also very good, with a lot of amazing small details, such as when locking the enemy, the Destiny Man will use a small jump to adjust the direction of the body, and the footsteps will become moving around the enemy, rather than simply turning his head but running forward on his feet.The music and sound effects are also very good, the heroic battle theme song with drums is full of epic feeling, and the melodic flute and chime add surprise and mystery to the exploration.
That being said, it would be nice if the game could make a map.The locations you explore in Black Myth: Goku are undoubtedly beautiful, but they’re so big and so secret that it’s a bit of a stretch not to offer some sort of navigation, especially in Chapters 2 and 3.In addition, it is difficult to judge which obstacles can be climbed and where there are invisible walls in the scene, which makes the exploration quite cumbersome.Fortunately, the reward for exploration is quite generous.
