North West, the 12-year-old daughter of rapper Ye and Kim Kardashian, captivated a sold-out crowd at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium by performing alongside her father during his first U.S. concert since 2021. The event drew 70,000 fans on Wednesday night, marking a significant moment in Ye’s ongoing tour supporting his twelfth studio album, Bully.
Dressed in black with striking blue pigtails and sunglasses, North took the stage with confidence to perform her own 2024 track “Miss Westie.” She then surprised the audience by singing two newer songs, “Talking” and “Piercing on My Wrist,” the latter possibly inspired by her many microdermal piercings. Her appearance came near the end of Ye’s extensive 33-song setlist that included some of his most popular hits such as “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Heartless,” and “All of the Lights.”
The concert was notable not only for its star-studded performances but also for its impressive stage setup. The entire show was held atop a giant dome illuminated with a projection of Earth, requiring both Ye and North to wear harnesses for safety. This high-profile collaboration highlighted the growing trend of family members joining artists onstage, showcasing musical talent passed down through generations.
North’s public musical appearances have previously drawn attention, including her debut at age six during Paris Fashion Week at a Yeezy show. More recently, she traveled to Mexico City in January to perform “Piercing on My Hand” live for the first time before thousands of fans. Her performance at SoFi Stadium further cemented her presence as an emerging young artist.
Ye’s latest album Bully has received mixed reviews from critics. While some praise its nostalgic elements, others criticize it for lacking depth. Notably, producer James Blake requested removal of his name from one track’s credits due to creative differences with Ye over production style. Despite such controversies, Ye continues to draw large crowds worldwide, with upcoming tour dates planned across India, Turkey, Europe, and more.
The concert also featured guest appearances such as Don Toliver performing “Moon,” a collaboration with Ye from the 2021 album Donda. Ye’s recent public reflections on past controversies and personal struggles have added complexity to his public image but have not diminished fan enthusiasm for his live shows.
This family collaboration at SoFi Stadium reflects a unique blend of personal and professional worlds coming together on a global stage. North West’s emergence as a performer alongside her father offers fans a glimpse into the evolving legacy of one of hip-hop’s most influential families.
