South Korean supergroup BTS continues to make waves on the global music scene by placing six songs from their latest album “ARIRANG” on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the third consecutive week. The title track “SWIM” achieved a high ranking at number five on the April 18 chart, reflecting the group’s sustained popularity. Alongside “SWIM,” five other tracks from the album — “Body to Body,” “2.0,” “Hooligan,” “NORMAL,” and “FYA” — also secured spots on the Hot 100, ranking between numbers 52 and 90.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for BTS, as all six songs have maintained their presence on the chart for three weeks straight. Their dominance extends beyond the Hot 100; “SWIM” has held the number one position for three weeks in a row on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. Furthermore, thirteen vocal tracks from “ARIRANG” are placed within the top 50 of the Global 200 and top 40 of the Global Excl. U.S., demonstrating worldwide acclaim.
BTS’s impact is also evident in multiple other Billboard charts. The group has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart, Artist 100, Digital Song Sales, and Top Album Sales for three consecutive weeks. This marks the first time since 2012 that a group has maintained a three-week run at number one on the Billboard 200. Additionally, BTS reached number one on the Vinyl Albums chart and secured high ranks on Top Streaming Albums (number four) and Streaming Songs (number nine).
In Japan, BTS’s album “ARIRANG” has remained at number one for two straight weeks on Oricon’s Weekly Streaming Ranking, with approximately 8.55 million plays in a single week. This feat is notable as it is the first time since November 2024 that an international artist has led this chart consecutively.
Beyond chart success, BTS has been featured prominently in Rolling Stone magazine’s May special issue, appearing on covers distributed across sixteen countries. In interviews, members reflected on their growth and unity after returning from hiatus. They emphasized themes of perseverance and teamwork that are central to their new album’s message.
The group recently completed three opening concerts of their “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’” at Goyang Sports Complex in South Korea, drawing an audience of about 132,000 people in person while engaging fans worldwide through live streams in nearly 200 countries.
“ARIRANG,” BTS’s first full-length album release in over three years, explores universal emotions with lyrics co-written by member RM. The album’s lead track “SWIM” conveys a message of determination to keep moving forward despite life’s challenges, resonating deeply with fans around the world.
