Carla Muller, a singer-songwriter from Woolwich, Ontario, has released two deeply moving songs that pay tribute to the strength and love shared between sisters. Her tracks “That Tree” and “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” offer listeners an intimate look at resilience and devotion within family bonds.

“That Tree,” co-written with the late Sean Cunnington, recounts a powerful true story about Carla’s older sister, Erika. As a child, Erika climbed a towering oak tree, fell thirty feet, yet astonishingly got up and walked home unharmed. Later, when her bicycle was stolen, she bravely pursued the thief on Carla’s bike despite its flat tires and returned with both bicycles. This song beautifully captures Erika’s fearless spirit and determination, inspiring listeners to push through challenges no matter how daunting they seem.

The second song, “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright,” was co-written with Scott Metcalfe and holds profound emotional significance. Carla wrote it in 2008 during a harrowing time when her younger sister Francine lay in a coma for nineteen days. Singing this song beside her hospital bed, Carla wasn’t sure if Francine could hear her. In a remarkable moment of hope, Francine awakened asking about the song. Sadly, Francine passed away in October 2024 due to a heart condition. Carla later performed this heartfelt track at her sister’s funeral as a poignant farewell.

Produced by Canterbury Music Company with contributions from skilled Canadian musicians and engineers, both songs feature intimate acoustic arrangements that enhance their storytelling power. Carla’s songwriting is rooted in vivid real-life details—like the image of a ten-speed Schwinn bicycle or a majestic oak tree—creating narratives that resonate deeply with anyone who values courage and love.

These songs are part of Carla Muller’s dual album release titled ‘In Between’ and ‘Paper Stars,’ which showcase her distinctive voice in the singer-songwriter tradition. Living in Woolwich with her husband Tom and their three children, Carla continues to find inspiration in her closest relationships. She emphasizes that writing honestly about the people she loves is central to her creative process.

Now available to audiences seeking songs about sisters and family resilience, “That Tree” and “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” stand as powerful testaments to the enduring bonds of sisterhood. Through these heartfelt compositions, Carla Muller invites listeners to reflect on strength, hope, and the unbreakable ties that connect loved ones.
