Dancehall artist Chronic Law has unveiled his latest EP titled I.C.E (Inside Cold & Empty), a deeply personal seven-track project that delves into themes of isolation, loyalty, betrayal, and inner strength. Released on April 24, 2026, the EP is already attracting widespread attention on digital platforms like YouTube and Audiomack, with the lead single “Like Samson” standing out as a fan favorite.
The creation of I.C.E was shaped under extraordinary circumstances. Chronic Law developed the EP while enduring 73 days in U.S. immigration detention earlier this year. Despite the challenging environment, he remained dedicated to his craft, working closely with his executive manager Alexandre ‘Bashy’ Jones through daily phone calls. Instrumentals were shared remotely, and lyrics were written in real time, allowing the artist to channel raw emotion and personal experience directly into his music.
Bashy Jones described the process as spiritual and unfiltered: “From day one, we never let the situation stop the work. Every day I linked him, played the riddims, and he just started to write. Everything was built off real emotions — no filter, no distraction.” This approach resulted in an EP that resonates with authenticity and emotional depth.
At the heart of I.C.E is the lead track “Like Samson,” inspired by the biblical figure Samson’s story of strength, betrayal, loss, and redemption. Chronic Law relates closely to this narrative: “Samson’s story is powerful because he was chosen, but he still goes through betrayal and loss. A dat mi relate to. ‘Like Samson’ a show says even when yuh feel weak or stripped, God still have a plan to restore yuh strength. A faith carry yuh through everything.” Bashy added that the song represents more than music—it symbolizes knowing one’s spiritual strength and maintaining purpose despite adversity.
Produced by 1Law Entertainment, Collect Di Bread Entertainment, and Notnice Records, the EP also benefits from the creative input of Billboard-charting producer Ainsley ‘Notnice’ Morris. His contributions helped shape a cohesive sound across the project’s seven tracks. Other songs such as “Ride or Die” and “Prayer Works” have also gained traction since the release, expanding Chronic Law’s reach within the dancehall community.
Since debuting on April 17 via ONErpm, “Like Samson” has amassed over 1.3 million views on YouTube VEVO alone. The strong engagement includes shares, user-generated content, and positive fan reactions highlighting its spiritual themes and raw storytelling.
Chronic Law describes I.C.E as more than just music; it is a reflection of his reality: “Every line comes from a real place. Pain, faith, growth… everything is in there. I.C.E shows who I am, not just as an artiste, but as a man still standing through everything.” As dancehall continues to evolve globally, this EP showcases Chronic Law’s ability to fuse authentic storytelling with powerful themes related to coldness—both literal and emotional—strengthening his position as a resilient voice in contemporary music.
