The acclaimed band Punch Brothers is embarking on their most ambitious North American tour since 2019, marking a major return to the live music scene. Starting May 14, the Grammy-winning quintet will perform in 64 cities across the United States and Canada. The extensive tour spans the East Coast, South, Midwest, Rockies, Southwest, West Coast, and includes notable stops at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. They will also appear at major festivals including the Newport Folk Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and Spoleto Festival.
This tour celebrates the release of their seventh album, “The Unsung Adventures of Punch Brothers,” set to debut on July 24 through Nonesuch Records. The album is entirely instrumental, featuring eight original compositions alongside three traditional songs arranged by the band. It is the first to include violinist Brittany Haas, who joined the group in 2023. Mandolinist Chris Thile described the album as a joyful and deep exploration of American string band music, highlighting the group’s two decades of collaboration and the fresh energy brought by Haas.
Produced by the band and engineered by Grammy-winning Joseph Lorge, known for his work on Pino Palladino and Blake Mills’ “That Wasn’t a Dream,” this record showcases the band’s ability to tell stories solely through melody and rhythm without lyrics. Their previous work earned them a Grammy for Best Folk Album with “All Ashore” in 2018. Beyond music releases, Punch Brothers have expanded their creative reach with “The Energy Curfew Music Hour,” a musical variety podcast that won multiple awards including Most Innovative Audio Experience and Best Live Podcast Recording at the 2025 Signal Awards.
The band members—Chris Thile (mandolin), Chris Eldridge (guitar), Paul Kowert (bass), Noam Pikelny (banjo), and Brittany Haas (violin)—have built a reputation for pushing bluegrass into new realms by blending technical skill with heartfelt expression. Their commitment to social causes is reflected in their partnership with PLUS1 during this tour, where $1 from every ticket sold supports organizations focused on equity, access, and dignity.
Fans can expect an energetic and diverse setlist as Punch Brothers bring their intricate string arrangements to audiences nationwide. VIP packages are available for those seeking an enhanced concert experience. With nearly half a year of performances lined up through November 21, this tour solidifies Punch Brothers’ status as one of the most innovative and influential bands in modern folk and bluegrass music.
This resurgence of bands featuring “Brothers” in their name highlights a continuing trend where groups blend traditional roots with contemporary influences to create compelling music narratives. Songs about brothers or brotherhood often resonate deeply with audiences due to themes of connection, loyalty, and shared experience. Punch Brothers’ latest instrumental journey underscores how music can convey powerful stories beyond words.
As they prepare to hit stages across North America, Punch Brothers invite both longtime followers and new listeners to join them on this expansive musical adventure celebrating craftsmanship, collaboration, and community.
