No Doubt, the popular Southern California band, began their much-anticipated residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas on May 6. The group, consisting of Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young, and Tom Dumont, delivered a vibrant and energetic performance that celebrated their classic album “Tragic Kingdom,” released in 1995. This album includes some of their biggest hits like “Just a Girl” and “Don’t Speak,” which remain fan favorites to this day.
The show marked No Doubt’s return to live performances after several years, with their last tour dating back to 2009. Their reunion at Coachella in 2024 received an enthusiastic response from fans, as did their brief appearance at the FireAid benefit concert in early 2025. This strong fan demand led to the extension of their initial six-show booking at the Sphere to a total of eighteen dates through May and June.
During their two-hour set, No Doubt played a diverse selection of songs that included not only their well-known hits but also rarer tracks like “Trapped in a Box” and “The Climb.” The band was joined by additional musicians handling keyboards, horns, and backing vocals, contributing to a full and dynamic sound. Gwen Stefani’s charismatic stage presence paired with the band’s tight performance created an engaging atmosphere for attendees.
The Sphere’s visual effects enhanced the concert experience with captivating imagery that ranged from nostalgic yearbook photos to underwater scenes and whimsical carnival rides. These visuals added a unique layer of storytelling to the live show, making it a memorable event for fans.
No Doubt’s setlist for the opening night included twenty songs: “Tragic Kingdom,” “Excuse Me Mr.,” “Different People,” “Total Hate ’95,” “Spiderwebs,” “Underneath It All,” “Hey Baby,” “Bathwater,” “Ex-Girlfriend,” “Happy Now?,” “Hella Good,” “The Climb,” “Running,” “It’s My Life,” “Simple Kind of Life,” “Don’t Speak,” “Trapped in a Box,” “New,” “End It on This,” “Just a Girl,” and “Sunday Morning.”
This residency is not only a celebration of No Doubt’s musical legacy but also an opportunity for fans old and new to experience their energetic blend of ska-pop and rock live. The success of the residency highlights the lasting appeal of No Doubt’s music and confirms their status as one of the most beloved bands from the 1990s era.
